Language Liaisons, LLC based in Wilmington, Delaware, provides full-service foreign language consulting and services in the areas of on-site interpretation, remote interpretation, translation, training and both academic and professional tutoring in Delaware and the Tri-State Area.
Founded in 2003, we were the first agency in Delaware to provide foreign language interpreters specifically to the medical field, and are now serving in all community settings. We provide services in over 200 different languages, including American Sign Language! Our team is highly trained and we pride ourselves in going above and beyond to exceed the expectations and needs of our clients.

Leah daPonte Lightcap
Founder & CEO
She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a BA in Organizational Communication, an MA in Spanish and Pedagogy and a certificate from Harvard University’s Women in Leadership Program. Leah founded Language Liaisons in 2003 when her sister Anne Kaminski, a registered nurse, showed her the benefits of language access in the medical field. Her company now contracts with over 300 translators and interpreters in Delaware. She is now the Vice Chair for the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA).
Director & Trainer
A native of Puerto Rico, Ireida grew up in a family that was passionate about their culture and the Spanish language. Ireida developed a love for the performing arts and went on to major in Theater and Public Relations and minored in Spanish at Penn State University. Her extensive background and experience have enabled her to function perfectly in her multi-role position. If you meet Ireida one day, you will notice her passion for accuracy, honesty, and learning.
Interpreter Coordinator & Executive Administrative Assistant
She was born in Kazakhstan and grew up in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. She took great interest in learning languages, that eventually brought her to the United States. As a graduate of Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University, majoring in translation and interpreting, She also holds a certificate from the Community Interpreter International. Nastia is delighted to serve the community by helping people of different languages and cultures communicate.
